Fly Fishing
Crystal clear spring fed lochan stocked with fully finned Rainbow, Brown, Brook and Tiger Trout.
Various ticket options are available , but whichever ticket is chosen fishing is strictly by using barblesss or de-barbed hooks only.
The clear spring waters offer the opportunity to “stalk” individual fish – but it is never easy because of course the fish can also see you because of the clarity!
Brook Trout
Brook Trout are also not that common but again are a lovely looking trout with white leading edges to their fins, and yellow spots along their flanks – they are similar in appearance to the Charr, and like the Charr thrive in cold clear waters such as in our fishery.
Brown Trout
Brown Trout are the indigenous species of this country and the favourite of many anglers and notoriously difficult to catch. Again our Fishery is stocked with some quite large specimens meaning that if lucky enough to catch one it could well be a career biggest.
Rainbow Trout
Our Rainbow Trout we believe are amongst the best that can be found in a stocked fishery, a fact that we also believe has a lot to do with the fact that the lochan is fed by beautiful crystal clear spring water from underground springs bubbling up within the fishery itself.
Tiger Trout
(a cross between a Brown trout and a Brook trout) are beautiful looking fish –
and here at the Moffat Fishery they are stocked to over 5 lbs in weight and are relatively plentiful
in number which is bound to increase your chances of actually catching one,
perhaps for the first time in your angling career
(considering that not many fisheries are licensed to stock them.)

Please note, all fish must be weighed before leaving premises and will be charged £5.00 per lb.

Barbless hooks only.
The management have the right to search all bags of fishermen on leaving the premises.
Removing fish without declaring will be taken seriously and thieves will be prosecuted.
Any fish weighing 6lbs and over must be returned.
Brook, Brown & Tiger Trout to be returned.
